Maziya defeats brave Fehendhoo 2-0 in the Premier League clash this evening.

Maziya scored from a 7th minute corner. Mohamed Irufan (Irey) scored with a powerful header from a Hassan Naiz (Dhaadhu) corner. On the 22nd minute Maziya almost doubled their lead Samooh Ali's header again from Dhaadhu corner almost found the back of the net. A few minutes later Fehendhoo attacked Maziya with a cross with no much presence in the box for Fehendhoo. Fehendhoo had a chance to equalize  in the 35th minute when a through ball found Ahmed Nizam (Nizambe) clear on goal, former Green Streets and TC striker's shot was saved by Maziya goal keeper Hussain Shareef.

Maziya had several chances to score early on. Fehendhoo's best chance came in the 87th minute when Ali Hafiz's (Haappe) cross found Ahmed Humaid in the box. The substitute players header was just wide. Maziya dominance paid off finally in the 95th minute when Ahmed Imaz (Aakko) had a strong shot saved by Ibrahim Zayan, Aakko raced in to score the rebound to end Fehendhoo's hopes.

"most important for us is three points, and With the Grace of Allah we have achieved it" Maziya coach Ismail Mahfooz said speaking to the press. He also said that their problem today was not taking the chances they created. Moosa Naseem, the manager of Fehendhoo said that he was proud of the club, and that the club was registered only this year and that it was the hope of the people of Fehendhoo that they play at this level. "we are proud of the players performance in todays game" said the manager about today's game.

The bottom two clubs will not play in the second round hence Fehendhoo will not play any further games in the Premier league this year. Club Eagles will play Nilandhoo today at 16:00 hours at the National stadium in today's first DPL match.
