Maziya beats Thimarafushi 2-0 in the Dhivehi Premier League game played this evening.

Maziya dominated much of the play in the first half, Asadulla Abdulla came close, when his headed effort came off the post for Maziya. Thimarafushi held Maziya off in the first half limiting Maziya attacks by closing down quickly and containing them.

In the second half, Maziya was feeling the pressure, coming close on several occasions. In the 66th minute the deadlock was finally broken when Adesunloye Ayodeji Tunde send the ball into his own net from a low cross by Ali Shamis(Thoppe) to make it 1-0 for Maziya. Cornelius Stewart killed off all hope for Thimarafushi when he beat goalkeeper Adetunji Lawrence who rushed outside his box and sent the ball into the empty goal from outside the box to finish the game 2-0 for Maziya Sports and Recreation Club.
