Maziya Sports & RC and Club Eagles has settled for a draw by 2-2 in their first match of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League 2018.

Eagles started the game pressurizing Maziya's defence and created few chances within the opening ten minutes. Maziya's defence held firm and declined every chance eagles created. Later on Maziya also started to build their attacks and created a few chances which the forward line failed to hit the target.

Maziya broke the dead lock in the final minutes of the first half after Eagles defender fouled Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu) in the penalty area box. Maziya's captain Asadhulla Abdulla (Asako) calmly took the penalty and gave them a lead as the first half came to a close.

Eagles began dominating as soon as the second half started and within fifteen minutes they equalized. Ahmed Rizwan's cross into the box was easily converted by Eduardo Luiz standing unmarked at the far post. Soon after Eagles goal, Maziya pushed forward and started pressurizing Eagles defence.

Nulkifying all Maizya's attack, Eagles started to create chances on counters and scored on the 82nd minute. Eduardo scored his second of the day beating Maziya's goal keeper after Ahmed Arif (Baka) had put him through over a long ball. Maziya equalized in the final minutes of the game by Ismail Easa's goal.

Maziya and Eagles share a point at the end of the day and defending champions, New Radiant Sports Club lead the table with 3 points.
