Dhivehi Premier League 2018 has been sponsored by one of the best telecommunication companies of Maldives, Dhiraagu.

Premier League is scheduled to start on 28th June 2018 with top 6 teams of Male League 2018 and top four teams of Minivan Championship 2018. Defending champions, New Radiant Sports Club, Maziya Sports C& RC, Club Eagles, Club Green Streets, Victory Sports Club and TC Sports Club has made it from Male League while Thimarafushi, Fehendhoo, Foakiadhoo and Nilandhoo made it this year to the premier league from Minivan Championship.

When the tournament's name changed from Dhivehi League to Dhivehi Premier League in 2015, biggest rival of Dhiraagu, Ooredoo had taken over the title sponsor. After two years Dhiraagu has taken over the sponsorship of main title which they had sponsored before the league name had changed.

The opening match is to be played against defending champions, New Radiant and Minivan Championship champions of 2018, Thimarafushi. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 21:00. Opening ceremony of the tournament is scheduled to begin at 20:45.
