New Radiant comes from behind to win against Maziya and lift Male League shield

New Radiant Sports Club makes a come back against Maziya in the last match of Male League by 2-1 to lift the glory of Male League Shield.

An exciting start of the game by both teams created attacks on both ends but were denied in the first half hour. Maziya drew the first bleed of the game in the 30th minute which was scored by Cornelious Stewart. First half came to a close with the same score and both teams eager to score.

New Radiant became more aggressive and improved their play during the second half and as a result, the blues equalized during the opening minutes of the game. Hassan Adhuham equalized for New Radiant and 11 minutes later Ibrahim Atheeg gave the lead for New Radiant after a beautiful cross by Rilwan Waheed.

Male League ends with New Radiant as the new champions with 37 points from 14 games. Club Eagles secured second position after their win against Green Streets. Eagles finished the league with 25 points while Maziya finished in third with 24 points. TC and Victory both have 20 points while TC grabs the fourth position by goal difference. Green Streets finished as the sixth team with 14 points while UV finished with9 points and Valencia are at the bottom with 6 points from 14 games.

New Radiant, Maziya, Eagles, TC, Victory and Green Streets have been qualified to premier league as the top six of Male league and will compete the top four of Minivan Championship 2018; Foakaishoo, Fehendhoo, Nilandhoo and Thimarafushi.
