We really are in need of some consistency!

We always whine about why there aren't enough supporters on the stands.

For sure there will be many reasons only experts can understand. I want to tell you why I have lost interest.

Last year when the clubs from the Atolls took part, i saw few people return to watch the league. Which really had me interested. All the teams showed promise. Especially Thinadhoo. Sadly we did not even see them compete in the road to the Premier League 2018.

First of all. This year they had changed the qualifiers from Male' league from four teams to six teams. Last year we had a more competitive Male' league according to the league table. This year we have Valencia far away from the rest. So i guess to have six teams qualify to the Premier League is fair enough. These teams according to my knowledge gets close to two million Rufiyaa to compete in the Male' League. They have a seasoned team when it is the time for the Premier League. All the Clubs that played in the last Premier League had battled their way to this year's Premier league too. With the help from the change in format, I bet they would have already started planning for the League.

What of the clubs from the Islands? Milandhoo and Thinadhoo were smart enough not to participate. With Maalhos and Kudahuvadhoo losing in the ten day tournament which is their road to the Premier League. This is a huge gamble for the clubs who are trying to return to the league. We don't know if they are given any money on the road to the league. With more traveling and all that, the returning teams have a huge challenge. How can their road to the Premier league be only ten days is something i cannot understand. Maalhos finished second last in the league. But Thinadhoo actually ended the league in top four, earning a place in the President's Cup.

This format has to be more consistent. This year i heard there will be ten teams. after round one two teams will be out it seems. What will happen to all the players who sign for those two teams? they have holidays for the rest of the year? what about players from Valencia and United Victory? Toplak is one of the National Goalkeepers. It seems he cannot move to another team due to the timing of the tournaments. Will he be playing futsal and then joining the National team when the National Team practices start?

we really need to see some consistency. Nobody likes to watch something they cannot understand. These changes in format every year, and poor information about these changes are pushing us away. If we are to better, we need a consistent format with relegation and promotion more apparent. We need to have some sort of relegation system even for the Atoll teams. Otherwise we will be seeing four different teams every year only to be thrashed by the likes of New Radiant and Victory
