NILANDHOO HELD TO A DRAW BY HITHADHOO WHILE FOAKAIDHOO GAINS ANOTHER WIN

Nilandhoo has been held to a draw of 1-1 by Hithadhoo and Foakaidhoo has won over Fehendhoo by 3-2 in yesterday’s matches of the final round of STO Minivan Championship 2018.

From group one, Nilandhoo went up against Hithadhoo at home and were held to a draw of 1-1. Ibrahim Furugan (Fugey) gave Nilandhoo the lead a few minutes before the half time. Hithadhoo equalized in the 53rd minute with the goal by Adam Shameer. This was the first match of the final round for Hithadhoo while Nilandhoo has played two matches and has got 4 points and are temporarily sitting at the top of the table.

Foakaidhoo won a hard fought battle against Fehendhoo from group two. Within the opening minutes of the match, Foakaidhoo scored a brace at their home. The first goal was scored in the fifth minute by Mohamed Farish Ibrahim, who also scored his second goal of the game in the 10th minute. Ahmed Rafeen scored the third goal in the 23rd minute to increase the margin. Fehendhoo had not given up even after Foakaidhoo’s third goal and Ahmed Majid scored their first goal of the match five minutes before the end of first half to give them hope.

Fehendhoo was able to net another goal in the 79th minute. Mohamed Reehan was able to narrow the lead taken by Foakaidhoo but the final whistle blew before they were able to level with the home team. Foakaidhoo currently stand at the top of group two with 6 points while Fehendhoo has yet to gain a point from the matches ahead.
