Two teams with the oldest rivalry in the Maldivian Football face-off tonight, as New Radiant SC takes on Victory SC. The buzz and passion that came with the old rivalry has pretty much gone today with mixed fortune of the two teams in the recent decade, with New Radiant very much the king of current Maldivian football, a title Victory SC had for many years.

New Radiant is unbeaten in STO Male'  league and comfortably ahead of second place Eagles with a game in hand. They are league favorites and with the first round coming to an end, the favorites tag has only got only stronger. Victory SC are 5^th in the points table, with back to back wins from their last two games. Their aim of qualifying to the premier league seems to be on target, and Kiss has been able to get results against the midfield teams, with has been a huge morale boost for the team. They came from a goal down against Club Valencia to win the match and get much needed 3 points. All the 4 foreign players in the squad of Victory SC seems to be playing really well, and they would need to be on their best performance tonight if they are to get any point from New Radiant SC led by Ashfaq.
