VICTORY APPOINTS A NEW GENERAL SECRETARY

One of the oldest clubs in Maldives, Victory Sports Club has appointed Aishath Thumeena as the new general secretary of the club.

Thaumeena is the first ever female to be appointed as a general secretary in the history of Maldivian football. She was a lawyer for 9 years and had worked as a lawyer for STO, MTCC and Anti-Corruption Commission. Today, she is the owner of her own firm. She was assigned as the new general secretary last week.

Speaking to media, Thaumeena stated that football is one other field that interested her and she also stated that Victory is the club she supports, so she is proud to be named as the first ever female general secretary to work in one of the big clubs of Maldives.

Victory SC is one of the oldest and biggest clubs in Maldives. Victory has achieved so many since the club’s introduction in 1971. For the past few years, Victory’s name became dim as their management was not stable. They have now assigned new members to the committee who are willing to take the club where it once was.
