UNDER 18: GROUP STAGE LAST MATCH, EYDHAFUSHI U-18 BOYS PAYS FAREWELL TO THE TOURNAMENT AS THEY MANAGED TO GET A POINT FROM FINALIST AHMADHIYYA.

In the ongoing Milo Inter School Football Tournament 2018, in senior age group, under 18, B.Atoll Education Center (BAEC, Eydhafushi) has paid farewell to this year’s tournament as they managed to collect a point from finalist Ahmadhiyya International School (AIS).

It was BAEC side who took the lead of the game as they scored the opener of the evening at the 13th minute. BAEC J.No#5, Ali Jailam’s beautiful well placed volley from the right flank of the pitch left AIS goal keeper action less as it dropped to the back of the net over his head.

But, just after five minutes later, AIS managed to level the game. In the 18th minute, AIS J.No#7, Mohamed Haisham scored the a beautiful solo equalizing goal which is full of talent as he went to beat three defenders inside the box just before he placed the ball in the back of the net through near post of opposite goal keeper.

Game went to interval as a 1-1 draw and it happened to be the final result of the evening as well.

In the last group stage match, BAEC paid farewell to this year’s interschool football in which they have not taken part since 2012. In BAEC side’s three games in the tournament, they drew against Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) by 0-0 in the tournament opener. In the second match, they lost to defending champion Villa International School (VIHS) by 1-3 and in the last match, drew to the finalist AIS by 1-1.

On the other hand, this match was not important at all as they have already placed themselves as a finalist after winning the first two games of the tournament. Second finalist is VIHS who regained their position in the tournament after a bitter defeat against AIS and then went to win the remaining two games to secure the final spot of the age group final.

Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) vs Villa International High School (VIHS) match will kick-off at 16:00 hrs. today evening in tournament venue, Henveiru Ground.

Current champion of the age group is Villa International High School. Runner-up is Dh.Atoll Education Center (Dh.Kudahuvadhoo) School. Ahmadhiyya is the most successful side in the senior age category in Inter School Football.
