BAKA AND DHAADHU INCLUDED IN THE SQUAD AGAINST BHUTAN

Maldives national team head coach has included Club Eagles’ midfielder, Ahmed Arif (Baka) and Maziya Sports & RC’s winger, Naiz Hassan (Dhaadhu) in the squad against Bhutan this Tuesday.

Dhaadhu and Baka weren’t selected to the squad when Maldives departed for Singapore to play the friendly match. National team head coach, Peter Segrt said that he had spoken to them before leaving to Singapore saying that they still have the opportunity to play. As such, he has given them the opportunity to prove that they should be included in the squad.

Dhaadhu was first selected to the national team when he was playing at TC. His debut for the national team was in 2015 in the SAFF Championship in India against Bangladesh where his first touch of the match was a surprising goal. Since then he has been playing regularly for the national side.

Baka is one of the most talented midfielders Maldives has ever seen. He was part of the team that lifted the SAFF Championship in 2008. He is also recognized as one of the nest midfielders of the region. Baka was out of form for the past two years but has come to the form once he was from the start of the season.

Apart from Baka and Dhaadhu, national team captain, Ali Ashfaq and Samdhooh Mohamed from Maziya Sports & RC have been included in the squad for the match against Bhutan.
