Kondey Football Club stuns Villingili sports in Ga Atoll finals first leg. Kondey came from behind to beat Villingili 4-1 at Kondey's Mohamed Amin Didi Stadium.

Kondey playing at home fell behind when Oittey scored for Villingili in the second half. Introduction of experienced forward Mohamed Fauzan (Faudy) was the game changer as he finished the game with a hattick. Captain Mohamed Shinaz (Zulla) also scored in Kondey's victory over Villingili.

Villingili the capital of the atoll had more supporters in Kondey than Kondeyans. Chants of "Kuda Kuda Kondey" was heard throughout the match till Kondey's equalizer.

Speaking to BoalhaMV, Kondey player who didn't want to be named, said "They mocked us from the beginning, and this is our reply to them" He also stated that he is aware that they have one more game to play and they are very hopeful, yet would not underestimate the 'Giants Villingili'!

Kondey player also stated the decision to sign Ahmed Husam (Kalhoo) from BG Sports was very positive for Kondey as his leadership made a lot of difference.

For Kondey coach, Kinanath Gassim, this is his first major victory, having worked as assistant coach last few years.
