BG Sports has started practices with their new boss Mohamed Shaahid(Shaadu).

The A-licensed coach has been appointed as the head coach for BG Sports club for 2018. Shaadu is currently Maldives under 19 National team assistant coach. It is not clear if he will continue to work in the National set-up. In 2017 Shaadu was the head coach of the Maldives under 19 side.

Former Club Valencia coach has recently completed A-license course in Pakistan. Shaadu worked in VB Sports as the assistant coach under Can Vanli, the currently Technical Director at the Football Association of Maldives.

BG Sports club had a poor season last year drawing all three group games an getting eliminated in the first round of the second division. BG started 2017 as favorites to return to the Premier League after their ill-fated 2016 in which they were relegated from the top division.
