HANIMAADHOO WITH HIGH HOPES OF REACHING PREMIER LEAGUE

Hanimaadhoo Football Team has begun the battle of Minivan Championship with the hope of reaching the Premier League.

Hanimaadhoo began their practice on 28th January after appointing former National Team and New Radiant Sports Club defender, Mohamed Nasir (Naasirey). Naasirey was the mastermind behind Milandhoo’s success last year as they fought the clubs from Male in the Premier League. Milandhoo grabbed 14 points from 14 games while Naasirey shined as his tactics and bravery were applauded by many coaches and supporters. Naasirey has accepted the offer by Hanimaadhoo to guide them to the glory with his newly gained experience.

Speaking to media, Naasirey stated that the main target is to reach the premier league as he believes that Hanimaadhoo team has the capability and potential to reach to such a level. The team includes players only from Hanimaadhoo and they include both young and experienced players, who have played for the team last year. He also stated that the players are physically and mentally fit as they have practiced the tactics within the friendly matches played.

Hanimaadhoo is drawn to group 1 from Haa Dhaalu atoll with Finey, Nolhivaram and Nellaidhoo. With Hanimaadhoo as the hosting island, Naasirey believes that they have the home advantage as there will be no tiredness caused to players since there will be no travelling. Also there will be more supporters to support the team which will give the team a boost and hope to reach their final target.

Hanimaadhoo played their first match of the tournament and group stage yesterday against Finey and won by 7-0. Coach Naasirey mentioned that he is very happy with the work rate by the players and he is very happy with the squad. Hanimaadhoo will face Nellaidhoo on 10th March and Nolhivaram on 14th March.
