Maldives to play Friendly against Singapore

Maldives FA is considering playing a International Friendly match against Singapore to prepare for the AFC Asian Cup qualification group stage match against Bhutan.

The match against Bhutan takes place on the 28th of this month and is the final match of the group stage. Maldives has already failed to qualify for the 2019 Asian cup and a win would only secure third place in the group behind Palestine and oman.

In recent years the FA has been criticized for poor preparations in build up to important matches and during the Asian Cup qualification maldives played two friendly matches against Afghanistan in UAE before the away match against Oman and then against Qatari club Al Duhail SC.

With SAFF championship on the horizon and the match against Bhutan weeks away the FA are yet to announce a Coach for the National Team.
