MILO INTERSCHOOL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT AGE GROUP DRAWS & FIXTURES FINALIZED!

Football Association of Maldives has finalized the age group draws of this year’s MILO Interschool Football Tournament. Unchanged as last year, this year also MILO will be the biggest contributor to school level football as they will be sharing the title name as sponsor.

This year’s interschool football tournament will be conducted among three age groups, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18. From three age groups total 22 schools will be competing to make their mark in this year’s interschool football.

First the tournament will be kicked off for under 14 age group category, in which total 16 teams has participated this year. And the 16 teams have being divided fairly into 4 groups.

In group A, Hiriya School, Arabiyya School, Ahmadhiyya International School and Ameeniyya School.

In group B, Majeedhiyya School, K.Huraa School, Thaajuddin School and Bilabong High International School.

In group C, Iskandharu School, Ghaazee School from Hulhumale’, Imaddudin School and Jamaaluddin School.

In group D, Kalaafaanu School, Gate Way School from Hulhumale’, Muhyiddin School from Viligili and Giyaasuddin School.

Tournament for under 14 age group is as top two teams making it total 8 teams will advance to quarter finals stage of the tournament. And the semifinals of the age group will be played among the winners of quarter finals and at the last the final will be between the two winners of semifinals.

Under 14 tournaments will kick-off on 25th February and the tournament final will be on March 21st. Total 31 matches will be played in this age group.

Next in line comes, under 18 age category tournament. Total 4 teams will be competing for the title. Participants include, Champion Villa International High School, who won last year’s title without a defeat while they participated in the age group football after long three years break. Most successful school in under 18/19 tournament, Ahmadhiya International School, Center for High Secondary Education (CHSE) and after a long break B.Atoll Education Center (B.Eydhafushi School) will be featuring this year in interschool football.

As in tournament format for this age group it will be a mini-league, in which each team will be playing each team one time and the top two ranking teams will advance to the final. Total 6 matches will be played in the age group. Tournament for this senior age group will kick-off on 17th March and the final will be played on 30th of March.

Last comes, under 16 age group. Total 14 teams have participated in this age category.  Participating 14 teams have being drawn into three groups.

In group A, Arabiyya School, Billabong High International School, Ahmadhiyya International School, Imaaduddin School and Giyasuddin International School.

In group B, K.Atoll School (K.Kaashidhoo), Thaajuddin School, Majeedhiyya School, Iskandharu School and Kalaafaanu School.

In group C, Dharumavantha School, K.Guraidhoo School, Ghaazee School from Hulhumale’ and Muhyiddin School from Viligili.

Tournament for under 16 age group is as top two teams and best two teams from rest of the teams, making it total 8 teams will advance to quarter finals stage of the tournament. To count 3rd best two teams from the remaining teams, the points and the goals of the bottom team of group A and group B will not considered. And the semifinals of the age group will be played among the winners of quarter finals and at the last the final will be between the two winners of semifinals.

Under 16 tournaments will kick-off on 1st April and the tournament final will be on 24th April. Total 33 matches will be played in this age group.
