The Football Association of Maldives has recently announced that they have changed the format of Minivan Championship.

FAM’s General Secretary, Hussain Javaz said that they made the change for the teams who played Premier league last season to play the final round of Minivan Championship in 2018. With this change, Thinadhoo, Maalhos, Milandhoo and Kudahuvadhoo will automatically advance to the final round skipping atoll round and zone round.

Javaz also stated that only the islands that have registered in the Sports Commissioners Office can participate in the tournament this year. For islands who still have not registered, the process can be done through the island’s council.

Minivan Championship is scheduled to start on 27 February and will be open for participation before 31^st January.
