Table Tennis Association of Maldives (TTM) has elected Ali Rasheed (Ayya) as its President for the second term.

Ayya defeated his opponent Toha Saleem by gaining 155 votes, where Toha managed to earn 80 votes.

Ibrahim Shiury was elected as the Deputy President. He received 165 votes.  Other members elected for the Executive Committee are Ahmed Shazil as a Treasure, Jadhulla Hassan (Jade) as a Club Member, Former TT champion Aishath Samaahath Binth Firaag as Individual Member (female), Azzam Ibrahim as Individual Member (male) and Ismail Sujau as associate member.

TTM Held its election a day after civil court ruled out not to postponed on Monday.

Former member of TTM Ali Adam Manik (Thaalhafili Alibe) demanded a postponement of the election arguing that election could not be free and fair. However Civil Court came to a conclusion mentioning that these kind of cases may take many days and if they delay the election TTM might face difficulties, therefore the judges came to an agreement of not giving a verdict to postpone the election.

TT association said earlier that two received two letters from International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) due to the court case against them. ITTF warned Maldives a possible suspension if the election was interfered by a third party, adding that the last word should be given from the National Sports Majlis.

TTM also said it was not a matter that any court could give a verdict, since they were going along with the rules and regulation of the National Sports Council and Memorandum of Association of TTM.
