Athletics association re-elects Tholal as President

Maldives Athletics Association  has elected Mohamed Tholal as a president for a third term during its election held at H. Boalhage this Wednesday.
 
Tholal received a total of 15 votes while his opponent, Yazny Nasheed received just one vote.
 
Tholal has been serving as the president after the Association's first president Maizan Ali Maniku (Alibe) finished his term in 2012.
 
Participants from 12 clubs and five individual members caste their votes in this election.
 
Tholal had the honor of hosting his team on Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) in which Maldives won Gold medals in the year 2015 and 2019.
 
Speaking to media Tholal said that he is determined to help the association achieve it’s new goal to bring a medal home from next Commonwealth Games.
