Champions and Europa league could be scrapped warns Cefrin

UEFA boss Aleksander Ceferin has warned that the Champions league and Europa league could be called of if the coronavirus shutdown continues but the UEFA president insisted that played games behind closed door will be the first option. 

However should if countries remain in lock down matches cannot be played behind closed door and UEFA will have no option but to declare the Champions league and Europa league null and void. There have been no officials dates for when the matches will be played. 

All of European association football has been suspended with the exception of the Belarusian Premier league begin the only football competition still going ahead in Europe. The coronavirus crisis has hit Europe hard with the likes of Italy, Spain and England struggling to contain the viral bug. 

UEFA has already postponed the 2020 Euro to next year and UEFA chiefs insist they do not want to cancel any other competition and has urged member nations to restart their respective leagues as soon as possible.
