Rejoice for Eagles as AFC cup qualification looms on the horizon

The decision by the Football Association of Maldives to declare the FA cup null and void will be greeted with joy for Club Eagles. Club Eagles now know that they can qualify for the AFC Cup 2021 group stages should they be able to win in the preliminary stages and secure a win in the playoffs.

An unprecedented victory for Club Eagles to have made it through and deserving so. Eagles have landed some major upsets in the league and has proven to a killer attacking force under the instructions of gaffer Mohamed Siyaz (Mohan). Eagles is know to have a squad built around youth players and some of the most exciting talents in their ranks.

Much of the success of Eagles is down to one player in certain. Ahmed Rizvan has been the sparkle in attack for Eagles and his rapid speed and composed finishing combined with top notch dribbling makes him a worst nightmare for opposition defenders.

Rizvan featuring in the AFC cup is of all the most exciting thing about the Eagles side. A transfer is highly unlikely and it is very likely he will stay to feature in the AFC cup for Eagles. Apart from Rizvan Eagles still have a handful of talented players they can rely on.

Hassan Raaif (Hanna) is another player showcasing his ability and hunger for success. He was called up to the national squad for the cancelled fixtures against China and Syria. While in defense Nooman and Sifau provide trust and consistency at the back.

In Ali Fasir gaffer Mohan has a versatile attacker with vast experience and a tremendous goal scoring record to his name. The 2016 and 2017 Maldives football player of the year and top scorer is ever green in front of goal. It will surely be a emotional return for the continental stage for Fasir as he will have a important part to play for the club where he began his career.

Perhaps of all the most under-rated player in their ranks is Ahmed Sameeh. Sameeh who has been with since Eagles since 2012 is a key player who forms the backbone of gaffer Mohan's side. Higly rated by some coaches but extremely underappreciated for his effort and commitment.

But of all the most exciting news for Eagles is the numerous amount of young talent ready to break out into the first team and leave their mark. Indeed it is exciting times for Eagles and qualification to the group stages is going to be a tough task but one Eagles can overcome.
