Foakaidhoo fought bravely against Maziya losing 2-3 in the Dhivehi Premier League match tonight.

Foakaidhoo started the game with a very defensive outlook playing with six defenders. The league leaders Maziya however broke their resistance fifteen minutes into the game, Cornelius Stewart scoring from a long range effort. 

Foakaidhoo equalized on the hour mark when captain Hussain Fazeel(Bofi) headed in a cross from Ahmed Amjadhu(Amju). Eight minutes later Maldives International Asadhulla Abdulla(Asako) rose above the center defenders to give the lead back to Maziya. Foakaidhoo fell further behind when Maziya scored from a counter attack with Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussain(Feydhoo Ibbe) lifting the ball over Saqib Haneef. Foakaidhoo fought back in the stoppage time when Mohamed Inshau Ahmed's(Shaa) audacious lob hit the post and bounced off goalkeeper Ovays Azizi. Foakaidhoo pushed everyone forward to try and tie the game.

Maziya now has a fourteen point lead over second placed Eagles having played two games more. Third placed TC will play against United Victory tomorrow evening. Foakaidhoo remains in the 6th position after two back to back defeats.
