Assad Abdul Ghani has been appointed as the head-coach of Second Division side JJ Sports Club.

Former Maldives captain, who won the SAFF Championship as a player helped Nilandhoo qualify to the Premier League in 2018. Assad also worked as assistant coach in the senior national team. Assad has an illustrious playing career and is often known as 'The Captain' within the local football family. The forty two year old Maldives legend is respected within player and coaching circles in the Maldives.

JJ Sports no doubt will be one of the strong sides in the upcoming Second Division. JJ Finished as runner-up last season with coach Ali Nasheed(Ogaru Ayya), barely missing out on Dhivehi Premier League losing to Premier League strong boys Da Grande.
