Bhutan Stun Maldives To Get Closer To The Finals

Bhutan Stun Maldives 2-1 in today's SAFF Games match played in Nepal.

Maldives largely dominated the game with a possession of 64%, but only managed seven shots on target compare to Bhutan's eleven efforts on target. Hamza Mohamed blasted a well taken goal in stoppage time to give Maldives some hope. Akram Abdul Ghani barely missed in in the dying moments as Bhutan defended bravely to top the group.

Maldives second from bottom now have a very slim chance of progressing. If Sri Lanka and Bangladesh game ends in a draw and then count on Bhutan beating Sri Lanka on the 7th. Maldives would still need Nepal falling to Bangladesh on the 8th, Maldives might just slip through if they beat Nepal in tomorrow's game with a better goal difference than Bangladesh, if all other results go their way.
