33 coaches including Ismail Asif(Kuda Heena) and Assad Abdul Ghani have completed the B-Certificate course yesterday.

The high profile B-Certificate course has other notable former players such as Ahmed Nihan, Ahmed Niaz, Hussain Habeeb and Saleem(Meta). All participants completed the three week course where the coaches were subjected to practical and theory exams. The B-Certificate is known as Level-3 Coaching Course in some countries.

At the closing ceremony FAM General Secretary Hussain Jawaz praised the effort of all coaches. He also thanked the two local coaches Mohamed Shazly(Shaz) and Ahmed Shareef(Dunga). Jawaz also praised the Football Association's other department staff like administration, referee's department and others. "You may not be able to see them, but their hard work makes all this possible" Jawaz said. Jawaz also added that even though President Bassam Adheel Jalil was not present, he was constantly in touch with Jawaz asking for updates during the course calling it 'a very important batch' of coaches.

This is the first time an AFC B-Certificate course has been conducted by local instructors in SAFF region. 2008's SAFF winning captain Assad praised the two local instructors. "We assure you that all 33 coaches will make use of this course by applying what they have learnt in this course.

Technical Director and Course Instructor Ahmed Shareef(Dunga) praised the batch. "Even when you guys were exhausted, you helped each other in the coaching sessions, that is how much you all wanted to help each other pass" Dunga said. Main Instructor Mohamed Shazly(Shaz) emphasized the need to create an atmosphere where coaches can meet to discuss technical issues.

"To take Maldives Football to the next level, we need such an atmosphere" Shaz added.
