President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom met with first division clubs today in a ceremony held at the president’s office where he pleaded all clubs to help win the SAFF championship with in the next 3 years.

President said that all clubs need to work together with rivalry aside to help Maldivian football to success. President said that there are lot of youngsters filled with potential in Maldives.

President promised governments full support will be given to clubs in development of youth players. President Yameen also mentioned that the government companies providing sponsor for first division clubs has helped the clubs financially.

President of Maldivian FA Bassam Adil Jaleel, president of Maldives Olympic committee Mohamed Shaveed, companies that sponsored the clubs and their respective owners where all present.

All clubs thanked president Yameen Abdulla Gayoom for initiatives taken by him to help the clubs and was presented with plaque of appreciation.
