Athi appointed as coach of women's national team
Former united victory coach Mohamed Athif has been appointed as head coach and Afiu Mohamed as his assistant in a ceremony held in football association house today.
Speaking to the media president of FA Bassam Adil Jaleel said that he wants to see women’s football in Maldives reach new heights under his presidency. “We decided to appoint Athi as coach since he is very capable and he was one who worked with the women’s teams from the beginning.”
Speaking to the media general secretary of FAM Hussain Jawaz said “Athi is an experienced coach we trust him and hope that he will bring better results than now and great success.”
Jawaz added that Athi will remain as the coach of women’s team until the end of Bassam’s term as president.
