Foakaidhoo FC's under 21 captain, Maldives Most Promising Player Award winner, Mohamed Jailam(Oggy) is set to wear the captain's armband for Foakaidhoo. Foakaidhoo FC's captain Hussain Fazeel(Bofi) walked off with an ankle injury in Foakaidhoo's 3-1 defeat to TC in the Charity Shield match last Tuesday. Oggy will replace Bofi as captain for tomorrow night's game.

Bofi is Foakaidhoo FC's long serving captain, wore the arm-band most of last season. Earlier Foakaidhoo announced Bofi as the captain and Oggy and Egyptian player Khalil Gamal as Bofi's deputies. Talking to BoalhaMV, Foakaidhoo manager Ahmed Asif confirmed that Oggy will be captaining the side for the Premier League game. "At the absence of Bofi, vice captain Oggy will have to wear the captain's band, I am confident of Oggy and the team for tomorrow's game" Asif said.

The 19 year old started his career at BG Sports, made his Premier League debut at the age of 16. After a poor season at Victory, Oggy moved to Club Eagles. After being played out of position in Eagles, Oggy moved to Maalhos in 2018, Foakaidhoo took advantage of the situation when Maalhos failed to qualify to the Premier League signing the speedster.

Foakaidhoo FC's first league game of the season against United Victory will be played tomorrow night at the Galolhu National Stadium. Foakaidhoo lost the Charity Shield against TC Sports in the historic two leg match, losing 4-2 on aggregate.
