The team started their practices with a squad of 20 players under the assistance of coach Mohammed Sajid ( kaate ) during the last November. 

 

Latheef also stated that the confidence of the National team was renewed by the comeback of the best player in the Maldives, Ismail Sajid ( kuda kaate ). Ismail Sajid was on a short break due to personal reasons and recently joined the new national squad. 

 

The volleyball family of Maldives was contented by this come back of Ismail Sajid. 

 

The national team is looking forward to the Indian Ocean Island games ( IOIG ) to be held in Mauritius from July 19 to 28. IOIG is held once in every four years between the Islands in the Indian ocean. 

 

Secondly, the National Volleyball team will be taking part in the Asian senior men's central zone volleyball championship to be held in Nepal from August 15 to 25, 2019. Maldivian National team has participated in this championship previously in 2017.
