Inter School: VIHS regains top spot
Inter School Football Towards Future

Tonight’s U-18 clash held Ghaazee against VIHS. Plenty of goals was expected before the game due to the previous result of the Ghaazee side which saw them lose by eleven goals to one against a rejuvenated CHSE.

Looking at the VIHS side, they came from a 11-0 thriller against a weak Rehendhi side. The game started with a class of dominance by VIHS. Their holding and quick attacking play lead them to opening the scoring of the game at the 7th minute, courtesy of Mohamed Sanih Saeed. Ismail Mimrah Mueen followed that by scoring seven minutes later, doubling the lead for VIHS. Mimrah was the scorer of 6 goals against Rehendhi in VIHS’s first game. In the 22nd minute, the star player of Iskandhar in the past younger age group tournaments and new radiant star of youth championships and youth league, Ibrahim Imran opened his scoring account for the tournament. Eleven minutes later Mohamed Afiaan followed up with another strike and afterwards in the stoppage time of first half, Ismail Mimrah Mueen scored his second of the night. That meant the half would end 5-0 to VIHS. Plenty of work to do for Ghaazee if they are to improve the next half.

Any talks in the dressing room didn’t seem to have much of an effect on the Ghaazee players as the restart got VIHS another scoring opportunity, which Ahmed Samah took gracefully. As the second tenth of the second half started the VIHS team started to pressure in dangerous areas for Ghaazee. This resulted in another goal for Ibrahim Imran in the 52nd minute. This was followed four minutes later by the hat-trick completion of Ismail Mimrah Mueen. After a dry spell in the game despite VIHS’s dominant display, two quick-fire strikes fired in as Ibrahim Imran completed his hat-trick and Areen Abdulla Ibrahim scored the last goal of the game in the 68th and 70th minute respectively. However, VIHS was gifted with golden opportunities even after that but failed to capitalise on it.

The ten goal thriller was certainly not in favour of Ghaazee and weak performances and disappointing results by both Ghaazee and Rehedhi may have already got them their confirmation of being knocked out. However, we can only be sure of it if Rehendhi doesn’t manage a win against CHSE tomorrow and if Ghaazee loses to Ahmadhiyya on Thursday night. With the other three teams racing for the two final spots, in which currently CHSE and VIHS are leading, Ahmadhiyya may also bring a surprise and heat things up in the table if they manage a win against VIHS on their last clash. If that happens final spots might have to be decided on goal difference if CHSE loses against VIHS after winning against Rehendhi.

CHSE will play Rehendhi tomorrow night, meanwhile U-13 tier of Mamen Inter School Football tournament will be ongoing in the afternoon and evening. Stay tuned to Boalha.mv for more updates on the tournament.
