Inter School: Iskandhar and Dharumavantha kicks off the under-13 tier with goal fests
Inter School Football Towards Future

The Mamen U-13 Inter School Football Tournament has kicked off this afternoon and for a day of starting there has been a total of 15 goals scored in both U-13 games combined.

Dharumavantha started things off in the afternoon with a 6-0 thrashing of Madhrasathul Arabiyya. Arabiyya is a team always considered as weak in the tournament as so far the team is the team that has conceded most and scored least goals in history of the U-13 just second to Billabong High. No records were in favour for the Arabiyyans coming into the game. However, Dharumavantha on the other hand has got a better record and has been showing huge improvement from year to year.

Dharumavantha kicked things off at the second minute of the game by scoring a beautiful goal courtesy of Yoosuf Nauhan Najih. After a dry spell of the game Abdul Maniu Nasir striked the second for Dharumavantha in the 21st minute. And 2 minutes into stoppage time of the first half Abdulla Nabah Ahmed strikes to make things worse for Arabiyya.

The half-time team talks did seem to have an effect on Arabiyya first but then in the 39th minute their hopes were destroyed as Abdulla Nabhan Ahmed increases their lead to 4 goals. Another shot was seeing ending up in the net. The shot from Abdul Maniu Manik had plenty of power behind it as it ended up in the Arabiyya net. The last goal of the game was scored by the socrer of the first goal, Yoosuf Nabhan Najih, three minutes away from the full-time whistle. The game ended in a score of 6-0.

After that game followed Iskandhar against Majeedhiyya. A game where most people expected a dogfight by both teams. However, against those expectations it was Iskandhar who dominated almost all of the game. The scoring was opened by Humaam Mohamed in the 4th minute. Five minutes later the goal rippled again as Yoosuf Aish Mohamed strikes into the Majeedhiyya net. The same player scored Iskandhar’s third in the 22nd minute and in the dying minutes of the game, Ahusham Adam increases Iskandhar’s lead as both teams headed to half time.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first. Ahusham Adam gets it past the eeper completing his brace. Afterwards, Hassan Naavy netted in two goals in the 38th and 47th minute.ten. Later Yoosuf Ayaan Amir increses the iskandhar lead to 8. Which was followed by the completteion of Yoosuf Aish Mohamed’s hat-trick in the 60th minute. 9-0 was the final score as a total of 15 goals went past the defense untouched. And much more goals compared to a U-13 tier staring day.

This brings Iskandhar to the top of the group table as Dharumavantha rises to second after defeating Arabiyya three goals less compared to Iskandhar’s beating of Majeedhiyya.Much drama to unfold in the upcoming group stage games and the ongoing U-18 tier as a rejuvenated CHSE side, and an Ahmadhiyya side who came back to life in the second match and the 2017 champions and still one of the strongest sides in the tournament VIHS go head to head to take their spots in the final of that age group. Currently CHSE tops the league table who’s followed closely by VIHS with one more game in hand. Two performance packed games are yet to be seen in the coming days as VIHS face Ahamdhiyya and later on VIHS take on current table toppers CHSE.
