Foakaidhoo FC has appointed Hamdullah Fernando as head coach.

The veteran coach will take over the under 21 team for the upcoming FAM Youth Championship. Foakaidhoo has been training under former FFC senior team coaches Ali Nisthar Mohamed, Ahmed Husham(Chin) and Ahmed Mohamed(Ammadey). Hamdullah coach will take over as head coach keeping Chin and Ammadey as his coaching staff. The long serving coach has coached most of the senior coaches and players of Maldives. Hamdullah just completed an Instructor course and is an FAM instructor for D-Licence. The coach instructor works with Early Touch Football Academy(ETFA) part time as a youth coach. In the Foakaidhoo FC team, Hamdullah has already worked with the likes of Choatu(Hassan Nazeem Gassim) and Hussain Rayyan at ETFA.

The FAM coach instructor was unable for comment. FFC under 21 manager Mohamed Rimaz said that he is very happy with appointing Hamdullah as coach. According to Rimaz, they only were told that the team needs to have atleast a B-Licensed coach at the draw ceremony. 

"It wasn't easy to find a good coach at such short notice, I am very glad Hamdu Coach joined us. The association informed us late. They need to improve these things. I hope that this will not happen again" Rimaz told BoalhaMV. Rimaz also added that he appreciates the association and he believes that constructive criticism is important.
